Preparing the bed

Your build finishes with a quick print-bed setup. The Ender 3 has a removable, flexible build surface held by four clips. You will reseat it correctly and make sure it slides front-to-back without anything catching.

Step-by-step

1

Remove the four clips

Slide the bed forward and take off the four metal clips holding the flexible surface. You will see the removable build plate lift off - this is what lets you pop prints off later.
2

Reseat the surface

Place the flexible surface back on and re-clip all four corners to secure it.
3

Check the travel

Slide the bed fully forward and back. Make sure the clips do not hit anything. If a clip catches, latch it flat against the surface so the bed moves freely.
The flexible build surface is clipped down at all four corners and the bed slides smoothly front-to-back with no clips catching.
That flexible plate is a great feature - once a print finishes and cools, you can pop the whole surface off and gently flex it to release your print.

Assembly complete!

Congratulations - your Ender 3 is fully built! Tomorrow (Day 3) you load filament, connect power, level the bed, and run your first print.
