Installing the LCD panel
The first assembly step is the LCD touchscreen - your control panel for the printer. It ships mounted upside down on a metal bracket. You will remove that bracket and clip the screen into its correct position on the front top-left of the printer. For this step you need the second-largest Allen wrench from your set of three.
Step-by-step
1
Position the printer
Pull the printer to the center of your workspace. The LCD panel is on the front-left, currently installed upside down on a sheet-metal bracket held by four screws.
2
Remove the four bracket screws
Using the second-largest Allen wrench, unscrew all four screws holding the metal bracket. Remember: lefty-loosey, righty-tighty - turn left to loosen. Support the LCD panel with your free hand as it comes loose so it does not drop.
3
Set the screws and bracket aside
Place the four screws in your workspace. Once all four are out, remove the sheet-metal bracket completely. This bracket is not used again - set it aside in your storage box.
4
Flip the panel to face you
Turn the LCD panel upright so the screen faces the user. On the back of the panel you will see two notches.
5
Clip the panel into place
The frame of the printer has two matching notches on the front top-left. Place the panel’s notches onto the frame’s notches and slide it toward the center. It will click and lock firmly into place.
6
Peel off the screen sticker
Remove the protective plastic film from the front of the screen. Put the film in your storage box.
The LCD touchscreen is mounted upright on the front top-left, locked into both notches, and the protective film is removed. The old bracket and four screws are stored away.
