The week ahead
Here is what you will accomplish each day:- Today (Monday): Setup, calibration, and sensor validation
- Tuesday: Movement programs, text-to-speech, line following, and computer vision
- Wednesday: Connect to a large language model and build a voice chatbot
- Thursday: Feed the camera into a vision AI so the robot can see and understand
- Friday: AI ethics, data privacy, local models, and continued learning resources
Meet your robot
Your robot has several key components. The facilitator will walk through each one on camera:- Raspberry Pi - the computer that runs everything
- Robot HAT - the board that controls motors and reads sensors
- Camera module - a 2-axis pan/tilt camera for vision
- Ultrasonic sensor - measures distance to objects ahead
- Line-tracking sensor - reads brightness on the surface below
- Speaker - plays audio and speech
- Microphone - captures your voice
- Wheels - powered by servo motors for steering and driving
