# Print bed setup

> Reseat the removable print bed with its clips and clear its path so it slides freely.

## Preparing the bed

Your build finishes with a quick print-bed setup. The Ender 3 has a **removable, flexible build surface** held by four clips. You will reseat it correctly and make sure it slides front-to-back without anything catching.

## Step-by-step

  <Step title="Remove the four clips">
    Slide the bed forward and take off the four metal clips holding the flexible surface. You will see the removable build plate lift off - this is what lets you pop prints off later.

  <Step title="Reseat the surface">
    Place the flexible surface back on and re-clip all four corners to secure it.

  <Step title="Check the travel">
    Slide the bed fully forward and back. Make sure the clips do not hit anything. If a clip catches, latch it flat against the surface so the bed moves freely.
